Amazing Catch

You may have seen this video floating around the web, it is a clip from a Triple A baseball game where a ball girl makes an amazing catch. But, is it true? Althought impressive, it is not true. This is a great example of viral marketing! Both Gatorade and the advertising agency are claiming they did not release the video since they had decided not to follow through with the campaign. Hard to believe, looks like someone involved knew how much attention this one would get. Enjoy!

Internal Strategies

If you've read our website and any other documentation from Dimension X, you'll agree that strategies are at the heart and soul of who we are. What you may not have thought of is how your internal strategies (i.e. performance agreements) impact your marketing efforts and overall results. By an internal strategy I mean a clearly defined commitment with each employee, at every level, that spells out the targets of that team member. This document is normally issued at the beginning of each year and reviewed multiple times throughout the year to discuss results, opportunities, etc.

Most business leaders, and this is especially true in smaller organizations, see so many opportunities for improvement that they 'pepper spray' their staff with great direction and leave the prioritizing up to the individual. The employee tends to feel overwhelm with this approach and the leader is inevitable let down because the employee did not get their most important things done.

By setting up this internal individual strategy you help keep team members aligned, reduce stress and increase job satisfaction for all involved. Employees benefit by knowing what they are being measured against, leaders benefit by ensuring the correct priorities are always on the top of the list. If you would like to discuss how to write a performance agreement and ensure the team is getting behind your 'battle cry' please let me know. Or, keep reading my blog. I'm passionate about this topic so I'll be sure to add more soon.

Have a great day! Thanks!
